High quality leadership is a key factor determining the probability of success for an incubator. infoDev therefore seeks to increase the capacity of business incubation managers – and their stakeholders – through one-on-one technical assistance, regional and topical peer-to-peer networks, the bi-annual Global Forum on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and its web-based networking and knowledge-sharing tool www.idisc.net.
infoDev's 12-module training curriculum was designed in direct response to repeated requests from infoDev’s innovation and entrepreneurship community for an in-depth business incubation training program relevant to the developing country context.
Who are infoDev's certified trainers?
infoDev aims to offer its training program to as many developing country and emerging market stakeholders who express demand for it, as possible. The "Train-the-Trainer" program coaches experienced business incubator managers to deliver infoDev's training program on behalf of infoDev and its regional networks. Certified trainers go through a rigorous evaluation process that tests their knowledge in business incubation as well as their skills in delivering training with a participant-centered, interactive approach. The first trainers were certified at infoDev's 4th Global Forum in June 2011 in Helsinki, Finland, representing the Africa network. The Asia network trainers were certified in Ooty, India in November 2011, and trainers from the ECA and MENA regions were certified in Istanbul, Turkey, in February 2012.
infoDev is proud to present its certified trainers!
In order to build local capacity and to further extend the opportunities for end-user training within infoDev’s global network of business incubators, infoDev began in 2011 the process to train and certify experienced members of its business incubation community to deliver infoDev’s training program on behalf of infoDev and its regional networks. To date, infoDev certified 65 trainers worldwide through “Train-the-Trainer” workshops in Cape Town, South Africa (February 2011), Ooty, India (November 2011) and Istanbul, Turkey (February 2012). Trainers are experienced business incubation managers that are certified to deliver all or parts of the training curriculum, depending on expertise and interest.
Certified trainers deliver infoDev's business incubation management training program in coordination with infoDev's regional business incubation networks. infoDev is proud to present its certified trainers - take a moment to meet them on the Certified Trainers' Community of Practice!
