The Asian Association of Business Incubators has come to a cooperation agreement with infoDev, and will publish the Asia Pacific Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

At its 10th Assembly in New Zealand on March 12th 2007, AABI, the Asian Association of Business Incubators (AABI), decided to initiate cooperation with infoDev for incubator Networking in the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Julian Webb, representing Business Innovation and Incubation Australia in AABI and also the infoDev incubator Initiative Asia region facilitator, will take the responsibility for coordination with infoDev. Initially AABI would like to: 1) share information between both Secretariats; 2) Set up linkage to each other’s website; 3) Share resources; 4) Make plans together on networking events; 5) Design collaboration between both organizations; 6) Organize local workshops. Currently, AABI plans to participate in co-organizing infoDev Regional Workshop in Asia in 2007.

Asia Pacific Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship
AABI decide to produce the Asia Pacific Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Prof. Benjamin Yuan from Chinese Taipei and Prof. Bong Jin Cho frmo Korea will be the co-editors. The Journal will mainly focus on the objective of AABI and should be both academic and practically oriented. The first issue is due by the end of Year 2007.
Dr. Horiba Entrepreneur Award
An official ceremony was held during the New Thinking Week 2007 on Mar. 14, 2007 for 2006 Dr. Horiba Entrepreneur Award winner. Mr. Qiu Shao Chen, president of CBIA received the award on behalf of the winner Mr. K. S. Pua,General Manager of Phison Electronics Corp. from ITRI in Chinese Taipei.
Mr. Wang Rong (President of AABI) and Mr. Hirokazu OKUMURA (director of the former AABI Secretariat, represented for Dr. Horiba) jointly awarded the Dr. Horiba Award to the winner during the award ceremony.
Dr. Horiba will continue to support this award and JANBO will get involved the awarding process together with AABI Secretariat. The 2007 Dr. Horiba Entrepreneur Award will be selected during the 11th AABI General Assembly.
AABI Newsletter
The AABI Secretariat delivered the first issue of the AABI Newsletter at the 10th General Assembly, which contains articles from Hong Kong, India, Shanghai and the USA. Initially the Newsletter will be issued every two months. AABI requests news and information from AABI members.
11th AABI General Assembly
CBIA will host the 11th AABI General Assembly in Chinese Taipei on Nov. 15-17, 2007 . The detailed schedule will be confirmed by CBIA later.
2007 AABI Incubator Award
The winner of the 2007 Incubator of the Year Award was decided for announcement at the 11th Assembly in Chinese Taipei.
