The Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Centre) invites nominations for participation in its international conference on "South-South Cooperation for Technology Transfer and Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)" to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka during 18-22 August 2008 jointly with the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Science and Technology Commission (NASTEC) of Sri Lanka.
The conference is open to the decision makers, R&D managers, technology liaison officers, technology policy researchers, technology developers, technology practitioners (SME owners), scientists and officials from relevant government departments and will provide opportunity to share views and experiences on private-public sector partnerships for technology transfer and development of SMEs, facilitate networking for synergy and prepare policy framework in using knowledge towards economic development.
Request for participation in this event may please be sent to the NAM S&T Centre (E-mail: namstct@gmail.com, namstct@bol.net.in, apknam@gmail.com) by completing the Nomination Form in this attachment (also available on the Centre’s website). The selection will be strictly on merit, quality of the extended abstract of the presentation material in the Nomination Form, and on first come first basis. English will be the official language of the international conference. The last date for submission of nominations is 11th July 2008.
All participants from NAM S&T member countries will be provided free local hospitality (accommodation, meals and local transport) in Sri Lanka for six days during Sunday, 17th August to Saturday, 23rd August 2008 only (i.e. one day before and one day after the conference).
