Congreso Latinoamericano sobre Espíritu Empresarial is an event developed by the Center of Development of Entrepreneurial Spirit (CDEE, Centro de Desarrollo del Espíritu Empresarial, at ICESI University (Cali, Colombia). It seeks to create a business and academic community concerned in entrepreneurial spirit, in the creation and growth of Latin American companies, and in business education. Up to date, 19 such conferences have been held, and most of them counted with the valuable cooperation of prestigious Latin American universities as well as with the presence of world-class lecturers, renowned Latin American businessmen, and researchers from various countries.
The conference is addressed to: undergraduate students and newly graduates, professors, researchers, professionals involved in different organizations, representatives of different financial entities, government officers, and the general public. The participants share some common interests: to develop their businesses, to get acquainted with successful experiences around the world which could serve as examples, to establish new business-support activities, to create new educational programs within the field, or to set new research programs.
The focus of the event will be on the social, economical and political changes that have significantly affected the world during 2008. The objective is to see these changes as opportunities, and to discuss possible strategies and actions towards the creation of a dynamic and socially responsible business system. This would translate in the ultimate goal of assisting in the survival and growth of the business sector, which would in turn result in labor, economical, financial and social recovery, and in which innovation will be a key factor.
